Steampump 2010 has now sailed past! Whirlwind of InSectus studio activity these last few months in preparation…managed to make over fifty pieces of steampunk and industrial jewelry specifically for the event. As it was my first rendez-vous with the public as Dr.InSectus I was somewhat nervous, but well cheered by the charming people I met, in particular the amazing Australian artists on site: Urbandon, MadUncle (bought lovely souvenirs off both) and Alexandra Gill-Chambers of Clockwork Butterfly (whom I plan to engage in a commission). Thus the InSectus display was in esteemed company, but I think it didn’t come up too badly. A sampler of the jewelry I displayed, old and new:

Some of the jewelry will be going into the InSectus Artifacts shop now that Steampump is over. I’d made several bugbots in time for the show too. These are only available to Melbourne residents for pickup as I don’t ship them (too fragile), so contact me via the InSectus contact page if you’re interested in one.

Next post will be dedicated to some of the delicious steampunk inventions, threads and jewelry on display, including the goodies I was lucky enough to score!
